Established in 1987 by Sr. Pastor Agrippa Cage, New Star Ministries has been a beacon of hope and faith in the Greensburg community. In 2002, Superintendent Michael W. Cage Sr., affectionately known as "Pastor Mike," took the helm and embarked on a divine mission to redefine the essence of our ministry. Through unwavering dedication and spiritual reconstruction, Pastor Mike breathed new life into our congregation, leading to the inception of "The New Star."

In January 2002, Sr. Pastor Agrippa Cage appointed Michael Cage Sr. as Pastor of New Star Ministry. Since then, Pastor Cage has been deeply involved in both church activities and community service in St. Helena Parish. He has volunteered with various organizations such as the D.A.R.E. program, the St. Helena Health Department, nursing homes, and the local school board, where he mentored at-risk students.

After Hurricane Katrina, Pastor Cage expanded New Star Ministries' outreach by adopting an entire elementary school, providing uniforms, school supplies, and holiday treats to the children. During the pandemic, despite church closures, he led efforts to distribute over 100,000 pounds of food to neighboring communities, spanning multiple parishes in Louisiana and even parts of Mississippi.

Despite battling illness, including five years on dialysis, Pastor Cage has never faltered in his commitment to God's work, never missing a church service or Bible study. Through his prayers, he has witnessed numerous miracles, including healings from terminal illnesses, financial restoration, mended marriages, and even material blessings like homes and cars. Pastor Cage's enduring dedication is a testament to the love of Christ, driving him to continue the divine mission at New Star Ministries.
